Missing Translation Gets Doha Residents Giggling

A newly created sign near the Al Saad Sports Club  in Doha, Qatar, got local residents giggling due to a poorly executed translation job!

The sign, which read “In Arabic/New Road Layout Ahead,” appeared to be missing one important thing – the Arabic translation!

Evidently the translation company dealing with the translation had created the space for the Arabic translation to be fitted into, but somehow the final copy was missing the translation and went to print nevertheless.

According to Doha News the photo went viral on social media after local resident Sulieman Fayyad shared the picture on the Facebook group When, Where and How in Doha.

It seems the authorities picked up on the error quickly as the day after Sulieman posted the photo the sign was changed!

It seems the Arabic translation was finally discovered and put in its place….yet another reminder as to why it is so important to have quality checks all the way through a translation project, from start to finish, to avoid such translation errors.
